This Paul McCartney song which he premiered on The Ed Sullivan show in 1964, is one of the best known of all the songs from The Beatles large music catalogue. It has been performed and recorded so much that there is hardly anyone of any age on any continent who hasn't heard it. The solo arrangement I play here is done on the nylon string guitar so as to keep the tone color the same with the other classical pieces I play in this section. It is influenced by the chord voicings of the great jazz guitarist Johnny Smith, who I first heard as an adolescent and was immediately drawn to. It really is a well written piece of music and I enjoy performing it.
